Restoration

For Christmas of 2008
In my family we have a tradition that started when my mom was growing up. When the girls in my family are around the age of 6 they get to dress up in my mom's Silk Kimono and have their pictures taken.

It all started with my Great Grandma Misako. In Japan it's a tradition to send a silk kimono to the family when a girl is born. My Great Grandma sent this kimono over to the states and when my mom was around 6 she could finaly where it. The only problem is that for years we have only had one copy of a picture of my mom dressed in the kimono. The picture was smaller than a 4x6 with extensive scratches and color damage.

In my parents house we have all of my sister's and my Kimono Pictures hanging with an empty space in which we my mom has always wanted to get her small pictured restored and blown up. So for Christmas I spent hours restoring every little scratch on my mom's picture. Here are the before and after shots.
