Silk Tie-dyed Eggs

Happy Easter Everyone!
These are by far some of the coolest Easter eggs I have made. You take a 100% Silk tie and cut the fabric up into a square large enough to cover an egg. Cover raw eggs with material. Boil the fabric covered eggs in water plus a 1/4 cup vinegar and viola! So Easy!

Creme Brulee

I decided I wanted to toy around with photographing food against white. Don't get me wrong, I love the atmosphere of editorial but there is something just beautiful about the simplicity of objects on white. Look forward to my future post about this project!

Anatomy

A year ago I created a series that I called Illuminated Vegetables.  In this project I utilized the technique of light painting. I decided to further my study by analyzing the anatomical structure of vegetables. I cross-sectioned the vegetables and photographed them from all angles individually. Then I presented the objects by compositing them together in a line.

Here are 2 of the Studies.

The Flower Basket Boutique

Had the joy of photographing this lovely little flower boutique specializing in artistic floral arrangements. This shop is a hidden gem among the small town of downtown provo. Along with flowers this store offers quite the selection of handmade accessories, candles, foreign confectionaries and aromatherapy collections. With such colorful displays all over the store, I found many things that inspired me. I also could not escape without the purchase of a beautiful pair of loop jade earrings (shown in the last image of this post) made by a local company named "Phyllis & Larue."

Herbs

I photographed each herb individually and then put them together in post. I also created versions such as the one below with the intent for them to be framed in a kitchen or placed in a cookbook.

Copy Cat Ad

For my Still Life class I was asked to recreate an ad. I choose a POM juice ad thinking it would be easy to replicate. Man was I wrong. After hours in the studio of trial and error and a lot of post I finally figured it out.
